CANBERRA AUSTRALIA - 11 September 2000 - Mike took it pretty easy
this week. With just about everyone on vacation at work, Mike got a
bit lonesome during the day. Well, that's a bit of an exaggeration but
it was pretty quiet in the office. He didn't hardly go anywhere
besides work or home until Sunday when Mike had his first baseball
practice. The day was gorgeous and he had fun tossing the ball
around. Mike wasn't able to assertain what position he'll be playing
since most of the drills were run for everyone. The biggest concern
for Mike is his batting since he hasn't played baseball in ten years.
He wasn't able to gauge his ability as all the hitting was easy throws
in pepper. He has practice three times a week so he'll have plenty of
time to work out the kinks.
Mike is also getting excited about the Olympics. He's going to see
two baseball games on Sunday with Dave at Olympic Park. He'll be
sure to take plenty of pictures and have a full update next week.
Here ends Mike's nineteenth week in Australia.
